In many cases, campus resources for academic help are either inadequate or ineffective.

88% of college students want to improve their ability to manage their time.

87% say that better time management and organization skills would boost their grades.

54% felt they would get better grades if they "got organized and stayed organized."

Why don't students use campus resources?

Students may be unwilling or unable to get academic help from their universities for a variety of reasons. These include inconsistent hours of operation, uncertainty about the service location, and lack of awareness of the available services. Additionally, students might not think they need help or be too embarrassed to ask. Unlike many universities, which provide only generic academic strategies, PrepU Coach offers efficient, discreet sessions that generate study plans personally tailored to each student. This individualized approach guarantees the optimal result for each undergraduate.

Why do students with ADHD struggle more in college?

For many undergraduates with ADHD, college presents a new set of challenges. In post-secondary environments, these students can have trouble adapting to the increase in unstructured time, self-directed assignments, and non-academic distractions. Additionally, the National Resource Center on ADHD reports that students who received accommodations and help for ADHD in high school rarely inform their universities of their condition. Unsurprisingly, this combination of unfamiliar obstacles and underutilized support systems can have disastrous results. A 2011 study published in the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology showed that students with ADHD were found to have lower class placement, lower grade point averages, and higher rates of course failure relative to their non-ADHD peers. By developing undergraduates’ executive functioning skills, such as internal organization, planning, and self-management, PrepU Coach gives students with ADHD the tools they need to thrive in a college setting.
